Service changes coming April 30

Effective Sunday, April 30, 2023, various YRT routes will be impacted with service changes.
In addition, Major Mackenzie West Terminal will be fully open to the public starting Sunday, April 30.

York Region is offering the Transit Assistance Program (TAP) to help make transit more affordable for eligible residents.
Starting January 2023, eligible TAP participants can receive a 50% discount on regular Adult single ride York Region Transit (YRT) fare using a PRESTO card. This includes a two-hour transfer window. After 40 trips, rides are free for unlimited travel for the remainder of the calendar month.

Major Mackenzie West Terminal phased opening starting November 6

Effective Sunday, November 6, 2022, YRT Routes 4, 20, 720 and 760 will begin servicing Major Mackenzie West Terminal, with the full terminal opening occurring in early 2023.

Masks no longer mandatory effective June 11 but still strongly recommended

Travelling on YRT and Viva services:
When the June 11, 2022, provincial mask mandate is lifted, wearing a mask is still strongly recommended on all public transit services.
Travelling on Mobility On-Request (MOR) services:
Our top priority is to keep all drivers and travellers safe. Due to the close proximity to the driver and other passengers when in a MOR vehicle, masks will continue to be mandatory when using all MOR services.

The City of Vaughan is partnering with York Region Transit (YRT) and Metrolinx to bring Vaughan commuters the Mobility On-Request Maple-Rutherford GO Pilot Project which will help commuters get a ride to and from these two GO stations.
